OUR COMMITMENT

MERAKIDS Childcare is committed to ensuring that all families, children, and visitors — regardless of ability or disability — can access our services, facilities, and website with ease and dignity. We believe every family deserves an inclusive and welcoming childcare experience, and we continually work to remove barriers wherever possible.

1. PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY

Our facility at 68-7930 Bowness Rd NW, Unit 101, Calgary, AB is designed to be accessible to all families, including those with physical disabilities. If you have specific accessibility needs or concerns regarding our physical space, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

2. WEBSITE ACCESSIBILITY

MERAKIDS strives to make our website at www.merakids.ca accessible to all users. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) where possible, including:

  • Clear and readable fonts and text sizes

  • Sufficient colour contrast between text and backgrounds

  • Descriptive labels on links and buttons

  • Mobile-friendly and responsive design

We are aware that some areas of our website may still be improved. We are actively working to enhance accessibility across all pages.

3. COMMUNICATION ACCESSIBILITY

We are committed to communicating with all families in a way that meets their needs. Upon request, MERAKIDS can:

  • Accommodate families who communicate in languages other than English where possible

  • Allow additional time for questions and discussions during enrollment or meetings

4. PROGRAM ACCESSIBILITY

MERAKIDS welcomes children with diverse needs and abilities. We work closely with families to understand each child's individual requirements. Where a child requires additional support, we will develop an Individual Support Plan in collaboration with the family and any relevant professionals. We are committed to providing inclusive care within our capacity and resources.

MERAKIDS operates in accordance with the Alberta Human Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination based on physical disability, mental disability, and other protected grounds. We are committed to providing equal access to our services for all families.
